Designer: stella mccartneyinspiration: a meeting place like every season, at the opera garnier, for this fashion show attended by antoine and delphine arnault and sidney toledano since the brand joined the lvmh fashion group. an even more eco-responsible collection than the previous one, through new developments like all tailoring and knitwear made from eco-friendly textiles. collection: soft summer colours for pieces with half-moons as rounded outlines, creating fluidity and volume.the skirts have a slit in the centre and the suits are proposed in a loose bermuda version. details such as plays with stripes, ribbons on sleeves, volumes and denim patchwork emphasise the urban and cool spirit of the collection.the sun-pleated dresses are decorated with floral prints and fluorescent stitching. flowers are found on the men’s outfits.focus on the last model who’s wearing a poncho with green trousers. to note: xxl earrings and bags, including the last models in natural raffia made by craftswomen in madagascar.with interviews:stella mccartney:we’ve developed more and more materials as time’s gone on since the last season and we’ve just introduced them into the runway. so, we have what we always have, all of the sustainable cotton, polyester, viscose and recycled nylons and obviously we don’t use any animal products but we introduced things like recycled polyester tailoring so we just had a larger pool of the content of the show.i think there’s a real femininity to the collection. we have floral prints and there’s a lot of movement, a lot of fluidity but there’s always got to be a little bit of a punch. at stella i don’t like things too pretty, i don’t like things too hard. it’s about finding that delicate moment. paul mccartney:it was a beautiful show. the clothes were magnificent, she’s a great designer and i’m her father.amber valletta:it’s amazing to walk for stella. stella represents what all of the fashion industry should be doing, no leather, no fur, no animals, and using all sustainable materials and really innovating and pushing for the future of fashion. vivienne westwood:stella’s an activist, i’m an activist. stella is my friend and what i want to say about my activism is, sustainability, putting your stuff in the recycle bin, that’s one thing. what we’ve got to do is change the government. the government is responsible for capitalism, for death. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
