Viktor & Rolf - Fashion Show Haute Couture Autumn / Winter 2016/17 (with interview)

access_time 00:01:38

Designer : viktor horsting & rolf snoeren inspiration: the duo have reused the textures that they have been using in their collection for 25 years to create new clothes. + the importance of recycling and ‘conscious design.’+ the idea of the vagabond inspired by dickens, the idea of not having a fixed home. + being in movement silhouette: sweatersand jackets reworked with mixtures of materials, patch worked, pieced together, braided, with re-embroidered jeans, all done by hand. focus on: the embroideries of the thousands of buttons also reused from the clothing archives and from vintage sweaters with obvious labels like ‘’coke’’ and ‘’puma,’’ re-worked and re-introduced. interview with rolf snoeren: we used 25 years of fabric archives, we cut up everything and we wove it into new garments, so it was really like mixing your own past up but not in a nostalgic way, to make something new.old buttons, old beads, all kinds of things, everything that’s shimmery, everything was mixed together and used to create new decorations. we always work on silhouette. we work on clothing a bit like sculpture i think. music from the fashion show/ not to be used beyond 7 days after the show
