Designer: fausto puglisiinspiration: los angeles and hollywood mixed with ecclesiastical references. focus on: the many abstract patterns and patch of colours playing with graphics + palm tree embroideries on many models (sweater, jacket, skirt) and the label’s sun baroque emblem illuminates the collection whilst referring to the designer’s sicilian origins + proposals of short little dresses with ruched effects, frills overlapping and multiple pearl embroideries, sequins. the striking silhouette: small flared or pleated dress with different coloured intarsia satin strips note: the thigh high boots that belt up the leg for a sexy allure, the studded boots, the jewelled breast plate slipped on over a sweater interview from fausto puglisi:i like the ideas of extreme glamour and extreme reality, urbaneness and royalty, rich and poor. i like it being sexy and conservative at the same time, both mono colours and prints. i like jewellery, flat shoes and high heels; i like everything that makes me feel happy. so this collection is a declaration of happiness for me. when i start to design something on paper i see straight away that i am going to do something very sharp and very graphic because that is in my dna, then i like to interrupt and contrast this sharpness and graphicness with decoration which is much more baroque or historical in a way. i was born in sicily so there are palm trees everywhere, and then i moved to the united states. after new york i moved to los angeles and i stayed there for 2 years and it was amazing; it was the city of palm trees, so i am obsessed with palm trees. they were the protagonist of my first season’s collection which was great, so i wanted to reproduce that in a different way today. music of the show, (donot reuse for more than 7 days after the show)
