After several months of shows, and many kilometres walked across the 4 biggest fashion capitals of the world, here is our prize list for 2014 of the most mind-blowing shows. mind-blowing with the energy that they give out, for the attention to detail (creative and desirable), or by the emotion and poetry felt. fashion can sometimes hold us momentarily in unique and suspenseful moments which make it so captivating! on our catwalk, the chanel show, at the grand palais under the enormous glass roof a luxury supermarket took place. not only did karl lagerfeld surprise us by this decor not too conformist for fashion but equally by the offering of silhouettes featuring bubble gum pink tracksuit bottoms paired with multicoloured trainers on the feet!a change of scene at moschino with the barbie girl collection. with the arrival of jeremy scott as creative director of this italian house, the label brings back colours and gives a breath of fresh air to the milan fashion week with a contagious feel good factor, which is more than welcome during this period of crisis. at louis vuitton, it didn’t take nicolas ghesquière very long to take to his role after the departure of marc jacobs. his 1st collection was highly anticipated and scrutinised by the press. the 2nd only further confirmed the talent of the designer. in 2 seasons he has succeeded in bringing in a new style that’s contemporary as well as urban.jean-paul gaultier brings an end to his prêt à porter with humour, in paying homage to the fashion editors who have followed him over a number of years of fantastic creativity. from suzy menkes to carine roitfeld, jean-paul for one last time put on a show all for the pleasure of the guests.hedi slimane at saint laurent also imposed his personal vision onto fashion for the renowned house. a vision of rock and youth. a slim silhouette and luxury glitter versions! and it works!at dries van noten, the decor at their presentations always adds a little magic to their silhouettes on the catwalks. a moment of suspension, and of serenity and what a pleasure! the belgian succeeds in always creating an enchanting digression during the frenzy of the shows. our firm favourite: lanvin who celebrated its 125 years in fashion, not done over the top but with attention to detail. alber elbaz delivered a precise and balanced collection in the room of the beaux-arts, with the sole objective to make the woman beautiful without any fuss or frills and with no age discrimination. one of the most successful collections of the season!musique des défilés
