access_time 00:01:50

The official dinner of the cfda vogue fashion fund directed by anna wintour and diane von furstenberg, took place in new york, and has revealed the young designer who wins the 2014 edition. it’s all about the englishman paul andrew, shoe and accessories designer living in the united states, who founded his label two years ago. thanks to the prize he will receive 300 000 dollars as well as tutoring from the biggest names in fashion to help him develop his brand. two other prizes were awarded to eva zuckerman and ryan roche. interviews: vera wang: the cfda supports emerging new talent, and not only are they emerging, but they’re american, so it’s kind of a lab for all of us to invest in the future of fashion. jason wu: the fashion fund is unquestionably the launching pad for young american talent. it’s been one of the most important things that i’ve participated in my career and i’m happy to be an alumni. stella mccartney: it’s creating a fantastic platform for young designers to have a voice, and you’re going to hear about them tonight and it’s incredible to have the support of the media and of american vogue, and such an incredible organisation. there’s obviously funding to be had, which is key for anyone starting up in any industry, and i think it’s just a great way for people to have access to young designers’ work.paul andrew: over the past two and a half years through great effort and the belief that i have something new and important to express in design, that dream has become a reality tonight. free music / bandit & nikit
