The apparel company has announced Ronald L. Nelson as its new chairman of the board, effective April 23, 2019, contingent upon his re-election to the board of directors at the company's annual shareholder meeting.
Hanesbrands saw sales climb 2 percent in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, to $1.8 billion, returning to organic sales growth, for the first time in eight quarters. The firm now expects full-year sales of $6.45 billion.
Acquisitions of Pacific Brands of Australia, Champion Europe and Champion Japan contributed to the company's record performance. Hanes expects the next fiscal year to deliver another strong performance.
