Hanesbrands saw sales climb 2 percent in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, to $1.8 billion, returning to organic sales growth, for the first time in eight quarters. The firm now expects full-year sales of $6.45 billion.
The ubiquitous athleisure trend is expected to be central to the growth of the global intimate apparel market over the next five years with sports bras becoming a leader among versatile and fashionable innerwear.
Hanes saw a 13% lift in net sales in the first quarter, led by acquisitions in 2016 and online sales. The North Carolina-based firm also launched a Project Booster initiative to generate $300 million in net cash by 2020.
