The clothes are still snug and cosy, but fashion designers are now dreaming of outings and parties, judging from the womenswear collections for next winter presented virtually in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
After three cancellations announced for Milan, another six Chinese designers are unable to participate in Paris Fashion Week due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dawei, however, will be present with a show on February 25.
Dawei, Victoria/Tomas, Savoar Fer, Marco Rambaldi and Cinoh have co-created a capsule with the Italian brand, known for its eco-friendly Mongolian cashmere. The capsule will be unveiled at the next Première Classe show.
"Made in China" may still evoke more off the rack than catwalk, but Chinese designers are slowly installing themselves in Paris, the fashion capital, as a part of an upscale march towards the lucrative luxury market.
During Paris Fashion Week, showroom for up-and-coming brands Designers Apartment shone the spotlight on 13 innovative brands working to make a name for themselves in an increasingly competitive and harsh environment.
Following in the footsteps of the stars of Parisian fashion, a new generation of designers was also busy making a name for itself on Tuesday, with shows from Anrealage, Afterhomework, Victoria/Tomas, Dawei and Mazarine.
