The British brand is opening its first continental European flagship on Wednesday. For this, the Arcadia group has chosen a nearly 13,000 ft² 3-level space in Amsterdam, the homebase for a "Europe-wide expansion."
The Franco-American trio are at the head of the Global Powers of Retailing ranking established by Deloitte based on the results from 2013. A ranking that includes clothing stores, department stores and luxury groups.
Retail tycoon Philip Green has the firepower for potential acquisitions as his Arcadia group, which owns Topshop, has ended its current financial year with more than 200 million pounds ($314 million) in cash.
