YNAP, Marks & Spencer in top employers list

Published
Apr 25, 2018

Luxury fashion group Yoox Net-A-Porter and British retailer Marks & Spencer have been recognised for their leadership on workplace gender equality.

The companies have been featured in The Times Top 50 employers for Women 2018, an annual list acknowledging UK employers that are making gender equality a part of their business strategy.

All top 50 employers have shown a consistent commitment to creating inclusive workplace cultures and progressing women in the workplace across their organisation at all levels, according to the ranking, published in partnership with Business in the Community.

Women represent two-thirds of employees at YNAP, the owner of Net-A-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outnet. This is almost double the average in the tech sector. Meanwhile, more than 70% of M&S’ workforce are women, according to the retailer’s latest gender pay gap report.

Deborah Lee, Chief People Officer at YNAP said: “We are delighted to receive this fantastic accolade, recognising our leading work on empowering women and our efforts to increase the representation of women in tech. We understand the opportunity we have to act as role models in our industry and beyond.”

“We continue to look to the future as we seek to drive a shift in education and training to help meet the demand for digital skills and create female digital innovators,” Lee continued.

Other companies in the list included J.P. Morgan, Lloyds Banking Group, PwC, Santander, Capgemini UK and the BBC
