"Our esteemed judging panels and mentors will no doubt provide expert advice to each of the nominees which is invaluable at this stage of their careers,” said The Woolmark Company Managing Director Stuart McCullough. “The continued support from industry heavyweights, governing bodies and the world's most influential retailers cements the importance of the International Woolmark Prize on the world stage."

This year’s edition of the Woolmark Prize will see more than 75 designers across menswear and womenswear from 62 countries participating in the global awards, which showcase the qualities of Australian Merino wool.

Six regional finals will take place from June 28 to July 19 to select 12 global finalists, who will each receive an AU$50,000 financial contribution towards their next collection and an invitation to participate in the international finals.

The British Isles regional award will be held on 5 July 2016 at the Australian High Commission in London. The nominees from the British Isles for the 2016/17 International Woolmark Prize are: womenswear designers Faustine Steinmetz, Danielle Romeril, Ashley Williams, Ryan LO and menswear brands Cottweiler and Baartmans & Siegel.
