WEAR Conference, the longest running smart fabrics and wearable technology conference event series will take place May 24-26, 2016 at the Seaport Boston hotel in Boston. The WEAR Conference agenda features pre-conference workshops and tours, and presentations on smart fabrics, wearable technology, smart clothing supply chain dynamics, consumer experience, enabling wearables through tech development, and the business of wearables.

“The WEAR 2016 program promises to be our best and most comprehensive yet. We’re excited to bring so much great content to Boston - from smart fabrics innovation and supply chain dynamics, wearable tech development, 3D printing, health and wellness, how to make sense of all the new data, creating devices with the consumer in mind, and applications that enhance human experience and wellbeing. It’s three incredible days planned in the epicenter of Boston’s bustling technology hub,” said Barbara Fowler conference director.

The pre-conference workshops includes ‘prototyping wireless wearables’ and ‘the hardware journey: getting from idea to 10,000 units’ which explores the challenges of moving from concept to high-volume manufacturing.

Keynote speakers include Hugh Herr, associate professor of media arts and sciences at MIT media lab, Theo Forbath, global vice president, digital transformation at Cognizant Digital Works, Rosalind Picard, founder and director of the Affective Computing Research Group, and Jules Pieri, co-founder and CEO of The Grommet.

According to the organisers, WEAR Conference attendees can expect to hear from a diverse group of designers, developers, manufacturers and end-users. They will be able to hear about the integration of fashion and technology, strategies for innovation in the supply chain, augmented reality and VR, crowdfunding, wearables for health, medical and fitness, and much more.
