29 June 2011 - (WGSN) - Victorinox, maker of the Original Swiss Army Knife, has appointed Simon Walker as country sales manager for the UK as part of a larger move to globally expand its fashion division.

Walker, who previously held positions at Peak Performance and J Lindenberg, joins the company as it looks to launch its newly "repositioned lifestyle collection" internationally and reposition itself as a European sportswear brand.

"Fall 11 was the first under our new design team and we got very positive feedback. We sold 51.1% more – and the base wasn’t small. So collection-wise, we know we’re correct," said Joachim Beer, global president of fashion & retail.

The company also plans to rollout international flagship stores in China, Asia, America and Europe by 2014, the next being a 4,500 sq ft store in Dusseldorf, Germany.
