In October, as the year-end festivities approach, website The Outnet, Net-a-Porter's discount counterpart, will broaden its range to include beauty products. The category will debut with limited edition box sets.

"The decision to feature a beauty products range on the website was a direct response to customer demand. (...) After analysing our panel consisting of 10,000 customers worldwide, we noticed that 88% of them regularly buys luxury beauty products online," explains Andres Sosa, The Outnet's Director of Sales and Marketing.

Each box set will consist of products from the current season, with a 20-30% discount on the retail price. Nevertheless, none of these products will be on sale individually. The objective appears in fact to be fostering a synergy with Net-a-Porter, allowing customers to discover the top beauty products already available on the NaP site.

18 high-end cosmetics brands, like Lipstick Queen, By Terry and Ren will be available for purchase. In addition, a range of products by 111 Skin, Aurelia and Sarah Chapman will be created exclusively for the site.

"The end of the year is the ideal time to launch beauty on The Outnet.com, as the shortened period and exclusive products make the range all the more attractive. But we won't say anything about setting up a permanent range. We shall see what the future has in store... Watch this space!", concluded Andres Sosa.
