Ted Baker opens revamped Meadowhall store
The new 3,500 sq ft store features a design created by the British fashion brand’s in-house team to celebrate the city’s music heritage.
Unique aspects like Spoonerism-style band names, music notes and vintage-style speakers appear on the façade, walls and points-of-sale, paying homage to Sheffield stars such as Heaven 17, The Human League, Joe Cocker and Def Leppard.
The store reopened with a weekend of experiences called ‘Tedfest’. In addition to complimentary in-store drinks, visitors were also given a wristband that enabled them to win one of 100 gift cards and, customers spending over £75 were given a personalized metal plectrum.
Richard Crowther, asset manager for British Land, said the centre’s refurbishment was the catalyst for Ted Baker’s store redesign. The two-year revamp programme was completed in December last year, and involved an investment of £60 million by the centre’s owner and an additional £40 million in store upgrades by more than 70 brands.
House of Fraser, M&S, Timberland and Molton Brown also redesigned their stores at the mall, while Primark, River Island and Sports Direct upsized their presence.
