Teatum Jones launches Woolmark Prize collection at Harvey Nichols

Published

London-based brand Teatum Jones, a duo that consists of designers Catherine Teatum and Rob Jones, won the 2016 International Woolmark Prize for womenswear, and now their collection has gone on sale in British department store Harvey Nichols.

The merino wool collection features 10 pieces inspired by the Foxford Woollen Mills. In 1892, English nun Agnes Morrogh-Bernard conceived of a "Wool Utopia" and founded the mills to create woven blankets. Teatum Jones' collection was made using blankets made at the mill, which were modernised with geometric foil prints and hand embroideries.

Fashion Buying Director at Harvey Nichols Anita Barr said, “I was blown away by Catherine and Rob’s presentation; their innovative use of Merino wool has resulted in a stunning collection that is truly representative of what British fashion stands for today. Seeing their inspiration from the Foxford Woollen Mills transform into a contemporary and fashion-forward collection not only showcases the craftsmanship of the designers but also the versatility of merino wool today."

The collection also features the first-ever merino wool lace, which Teatum Jones created together with a specialist guipure lace mill in France.
