Skinnydip adds five new stores to growing presence

Millennial accessories brand Skinnydip has rolled out five new stores at Intu shopping centres as it continues to build an ‘instagrammable’ brick-and-mortar presence across the UK.

The new stores opened at Intu Trafford Centre, Intu Lakeside, Intu Watford, Intu Victoria Centre and Intu Chapelfield, bringing the total of stores the brand has opened since 2017 to 12.

The accessories business was founded by brothers James and Richard Gold and friend Lewis Blitz in 2011, and has since then expanded into beauty, stationery and jewellery. The label will debut its first own-brand clothing range later this year.

Richard Gold, Skinnydip co-founder, commented: “As Skinnydip continues to rapidly grow, bricks and mortar stores are a key part of our strategy. Our stores help to bring the brand to life, and bridge the gap between what the customers sees online and the overall experience we create in store.”

The Intu stores opened as part of a partnership between the retailer and Intu to expand its brand presence. Skinnydip is the latest in a series of retailers to choose the shopping centre operator for their expansion, following River Island and bed manufacturer Silent Night.

Skinnydip also opened a pop-up store in New York last year.
