Shiseido Americas appoints new GM of Laura Mercier
Shiseido Americas announced on Tuesday the appointment of Alexandra Papazian as General Manager of Laura Mercier.
In this role, Papazian will be responsible for the development and execution of Laura Mercier’s overall business strategy in the United States and abroad. She will also focus on increased marketing efforts, product development, digital outreach and international expansion.
Papazian will replace Nancy Bernardini who will remain in her role to assist in the transition until April 30, 2017, at which time she will leave the company. Papazian’s position will be effective as of March 1, 2017.
Papazian joins Shiseido Americas after 15 years at L'Oréal, in the US and in France, where she led high-profile luxury brands like Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Viktor & Rolf and Shu Uemura.
“I am excited to welcome Alexandra as we continue to grow our global prestige portfolio with the addition of the Laura Mercier brand. Alexandra is a proven leader in the beauty business, with an outstanding track record, and she will be a tremendous asset to Laura Mercier as the brand continues to accelerate,” says Marc Rey, President and CEO of Shiseido Americas, in a news statement.
Shiseido acquired Gurwitch Products including the Laura Mercier brand last June. Annual net sales for Gurwitch totaled $175 million in the fiscal year ending 2015.
