Salvatore Ferragamo reopens flagship store in Avenue Montaigne, Paris

Salvatore Ferragamo continues the make-over of its leading stores. It is now the turn of the brand's Parisian flagship store at 45 Avenue Montaigne to re-open, after being extended and wholly renovated.

The store has now become the Italian luxury label's largest in Europe, extending over 1,300 m2 on two levels, as Ferragamo has stated in a press release. It will showcase the entire Salvatore Ferragamo range, from menswear to womenswear to accessories.

The store's newly designed interiors convey, in the brand's intention, "the welcoming atmosphere of a XXth century Parisian flat," and are characterised by marble fireplaces, oak parquet floors, carpets, silk screens and other tapestries. A collection of ancient Venetian vases completes the decor, which features natural, bright hues.

"The renovation of this historic Parisian flagship store is part of the group's project which lead in the last few years to the revisitation and extension of the stores that already exist in the world's major cities, to improve their performance," the label has stated, underlining the special effort made in the French capital, "which was hit hard by the terrorist attacks of the last few months."

Salvatore Ferragamo is present in Paris also with three other stores: in rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in rue des Saints-Pères and in rue de Grenelle. In France, the brand also operates a store in Cannes and two retail corners in department stores, one at Printemps in Lille, the other at the Galeries Lafayette in Toulouse.

The Florentine fashion label has opened its first store in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, at the end of April, and is going through a restructuring: last week it announced the appointment of Eraldo Poletto as its new CEO. He will take over from Michele Norsa from next August.

Last March, Salvatore Ferragamo also announced the departure of Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti. The label stated it wished to "seize this opportunity to review its creative approach."

The last piece of news is that the historic footwear manufacturer is collaborating with luxury handbag designer Sara Battaglia, to present a brand-new, highly colourful capsule collection.
