Roberto Cavalli strengthens its management team

Roberto Cavalli is refining its reorganisation to support a financial recovery that is beginning to bear fruit. The luxury Florentine fashion house, acquired by Italian fund Clessidra in April 2015 (owned by investment company Italmobiliare) and headed since summer 2016 by Gian Giacomo Ferraris, is strengthening its management with new key figures.

Recently, Camilla Borella, formerly at Emporio Armani and Neil Barrett, was appointed in charge of public affairs. In addition, Andreas Bergbaur was appointed last March as marketing and digital director. The latter previously headed fashion communications wolrdwide at Ermenegildo Zegna, where he was replaced by Martin Saunier. He has also worked in the past for Versace.

The two also frequented Jil Sander’s, as did Roberto Cavalli's art director, Paul Surridge, back when the German label was headed by Gian Giacomo Ferraris. They complement a management team composed, among others, of Deputy Director General Luigi Cantone and Silvia Carteny who holds the position of Corporate Affairs Officer.

At the end of the first half of 2017, the CEO made a first rather positive assessment of the brand’s revival. In the first six months of last year, retail and wholesale sales increased by 4.9 percent, compared to 25 percent in the two previous years respectively.

The turnover of Roberto Cavalli, which reached 155.2 million euros in 2016, should register an increase in 2017.

"Ebitda is still negative but has improved by 70 percent and is expected to return to financial balance in the first half of 2018," said Gian Giacomo Ferraris.
