Roberto Cavalli renews licensing agreement for Class

Published
Mar 26, 2013

Italian fashion group Roberto Cavalli is looking to hit the accelerator with its ‘Class’ line, which caters for men and women. ‘Class’ is the group’s more accessible line aimed at a slightly more mature audience. The company announced via a press release that it will be renewing its contract with Italian company Dressing Spa for the ‘design, production and distribution of the ‘Class Roberto Cavalli’ line until 2020”. The contract will enter validity with the Spring-Summer 2013 collection and will continue for 8 years, merging with the initial contracted signed in 1997.

Textile company Dressing was founded in 1981 by Rinaldo Lorenzon and his wife, stylist Roberta Scarpa who designs a namesake women’s ready-to-wear line which launched in 1994. Amongst the licensing agreements in the company’s portfolio are Class, Scervino Street and French brand Plein Sud.

The main objective for the Tuscan group Roberto Cavalli is to reinforce the presence of its ‘Class’ line in Italy as well as internationally, targeting emergent markets and big retailers. The line offers a complete urban wardrobe and is currently available at over 900 multi-brand boutiques and department stores across 60 countries. The brand also has 27 stores and concessions. In the coming months, new openings are scheduled for Russia, Saudi Arabia, China and the Phillipines.
