Apparel company PVH Corp. announced that it will be bringing American menswear brand Izod to Europe, launching the brand in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

PVH-owned Izod, whose clean and sporty aesthetic is inspired by American Ivy League culture, will debut two capsule collections from the brand's Fall/Winter 2018 line in its European launch: the maritime-prep influenced Winter Nautical collection as well as the more traditional Explorer collection.

“When looking to expand the presence of our classic Izod brand globally, we saw great opportunity in Europe,” said Ken Duane, Chief Executive Officer, Heritage Brands for PVH.

European shoppers will have access to a variety of Izod shirts, polos, t-shirts, sweaters, heavy-weight knits, pants, denim and outerwear. Oliver Timm, chief commerical officer of PVH Europe, anticipates that the sporty brand will find its niche as a mid-range American offering in the European fashion landscape.

“We believe there is significant demand for apparel that is colorful with a soft-washed, relaxed feel and unique performance-driven features,” Timm said. “This offering delivers a value proposition not currently available in the market. Combining this with Izod’s strong reputation as a quality lifestyle brand, should fill the void between fast-fashion labels and higher-priced American attire.”

Izod will be available in-store at retailers in El Corte Inglés, Spain, Hudson’s Bay in the Netherlands and Galeria Kaufhof, Germany. The brand will also be available to European shoppers online through e-commerce companies Zalando and Boozt.

PVH Corp. has plans for further distribution of Izod throughout Europe, as well as in Russia and the Middle East region, set for the spring of 2019.
