Pure Shanghai a hit with Brits

Published
Oct 30, 2015

Pure Shanghai, the tradeshow held on October 13-15 with CHIC, has revealed it attracted 700 brands and over 57,000 professional visitors.

China's GDP is currently over three times that of Britain's and by 2030 it's expected to be twice the size of America's, making China an important market for international brands.

Participants in the Pure Shanghai show included Desigual, Vincent Li, AWS, French Sole, Fly London and Rains. Designer Vincent Li said: ‘Pure Shanghai went above our expectations. We have had great feedback from retailers and overall we were pleased with the show experience.’

The show was a success for British brands, who confirmed that orders taken onsite amounted to over £300,000. So far, nearly half of them have committed to the next Pure Shanghai on 14-16 March 2016.

Julie Driscoll, Portfolio Director for Pure Shanghai, Pure London and Jewellery & Watch said, ‘We are delighted that the opportunities created by Pure Shanghai with our partner CHIC, plus the support and investment from UKTI have really progressed the keen interest in British and Western fashion within the Chinese Market.'
