Nike opens its biggest Eastern Europe store in Moscow

Nike’s latest flagship store opened in Moscow on March 26, just in time for Air Max Day. The store is located on Kuznetskiy Most in the heart of the Russian capital.

The store is run by Nike’s partner in Russia, A3 Retail Group.  In a statement about the store last fall, Aram Davtyan, A3 Retail Group’s founder said, “This will be the largest Nike store in Russia and Eastern Europe. This will be the first flagship store in Moscow, on par with shops like Châtelet-Les Halles in Paris, and New York's SoHo.”

The five-story, 23,455-square-foot store built in 1903, was known as the state house of fashion in the 40s. Nike’s design team restored the art nouveau building’s exterior, including its gilded branding. The inside has been updated with exposed brick walls, large glass windows, and lots of room to play.  There’s a dedicated Jordan area, a Nike + Running Trial Zone on the first floor. The basement houses the Nike + Football Trial Zone. Each of the five floors have an area where products can be personalized.

Personalization at Nike Moscow: Existing in various locations throughout the store, personalization at Nike Moscow includes Air Force 1 lasering, dubraes engraving, sneaker cleaning and football boot printing.

Nike’s Moscow location, 14 Kuznetsky Most is in the Moscow’s prime shopping district. Neighboring stores in the area, which is only accessible by foot traffic, include Hugo Boss, Hervé Leger and other upscale brands.

Nike Moscow is the latest in a series of flagship stores in major cities — Nike Soho in New York, Nike Miami and Beijing’s Nike & Jordan Basketball Experience Store — which the brand says "create a seamless link between Nike’s digital and physical platforms."
