Massenet, who was appointed as Chairperson in 2013, commented: “I am immensely honoured and excited to be staying for another year at the helm of the British Fashion Council. Over the past three years we have worked hard to deliver on our strategy and promise to build the profile of our industry and our businesses worldwide.

“Britain has some of the world’s most creative and innovative designers, and this is seen through the brands showing at London Fashion Week, London Collections Men, and British talent at the helm of global luxury brands.

“The British Fashion Industry contributes £26bn to the UK economy and I look forward to working with the British Fashion Council team and British designers to lead the sector.”

In January 2013, Natalie Massenet took over the role of Chairman from Harold Tillman CBE, who completed an extended term as BFC Chair. Massenet was approached in recognition of her reputation for innovation and creativity at the helm of The Net-a-porter Group.

The position of Chairman of the British Fashion Council is an honorary role with an initial three-year term.
