Luxury menswear site Mr Porter has capitalized on the male beauty trend by launching a new gentlemanly grooming kit.

The 'Mr Porter Grooming Kit' is a curated edit of 13 of the e-tailer's best-selling personal care items, comprising travel and full-sized skincare, haircare and body formulas.

Among the products is the award-winning Blind Barber '90 Proof Hair Pomade' remedy for unruly tresses, which is infused with hops and boasts a protein-rich formula. The kit also includes the Pankhurst London 'Head To Toe Shampoo', which works as both a head and body cleanser, as well as Bamford Grooming Department's 'Exfoliating Face Wash', which taps into the current charcoal skincare trend to purify the skin, while ginger, black rice and quartz slough away dead skin cells, and the phytonutrients in Swiss cress work to fight signs of aging.

Additional facial care items include Dr Jackson's completely natural 'No.3 Face Oil', featuring a herbal formula that promises to boost elasticity, improve skin tone and reduce fine lines, as well as the Erno Laszlo 'Firmarine Bar' soap, which contains spirulina extract to tone the skin and clear away oil and impurities. Male spa treatments are increasingly popular, hence the inclusion of the Ren Skincare 'Rinse Flash 1 Minute Facial' and the M.E. Skin Lab 'Bio-Lifting Cell Restoring Mask'. When it comes to scent, luxury UK perfumer Penhaligon's is on hand with its 'Bayolea Deodorant', a roll-on fragrance with a blend of mandarin, tangerine and lemongrass, alongside notes of cardamom, black pepper and neroli.

Male beauty is big business at the moment. Earlier this year cosmetics subscription service Birchbox teamed up with Guy Ritchie's "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." on a film-inspired grooming box, and Clinique launched its Sonic System Deep Cleansing Brush ($89.50) for men. Even the brewery Carlsberg announced it was launching a male beauty range earlier this summer, with its shampoo, conditioner and body lotion trio selling out in weeks.
