Momad announces activities programme for September

Published
Sep 6, 2016

Spanish trade shows Momad Metropolis, the international event for clothing and accessories, and Momad Shoes, will play host to various initiatives during the upcoming September edition being held 9-11 September. The events are organised by IFEMA and are taking place at Feria de Madrid, the city’s main exhibition centre.

In addition to a wide offering of 900 clothing and accessories brands and 500 footwear labels, the events will offer seminars, talks and panel discussions as part of the Momad Forum. The programme will bring together renowned experts, who will share their experiences, ideas and advice to visitors who wish to expand and improve their businesses. This season’s sessions will focus primarily on the creation of value, the best trends for summer 2017 and how to expand a business using ecommerce.

New this season is a Fashion Lab segment, organised in partnership with Modaes.es and the Business Association for Clothing and Accessories Trades (Acotex). The forum will provide a new space for debate and exchange of knowledge centred around the challenges of a multi-channel approach.

Sustainable fashion will also take centre stage at the trade fairs. As well as being featured in discussions and panel talks, sustainability will be highlighted in the new space ‘Sustainable Experience’ – a visual display created to raise awareness and promote sustainable fashion.

The installation will show how leading companies are applying responsible parameters in the production of their collections, and will be supported by an exhibition developed in collaboration with Slow Fashion Next exploring the need to be more transparent.

This year, both trade fairs will coincide with the dates of the Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya events. With everything taking place at Madrid’s exhibition centre, the Feria de Madrid will become the greatest global venue for fashion and trends in Southern Europe, hosting some 2,800 brands across clothing, footwear, accessories, jewellery, gifts and home decoration.
