McGregor Fashion Group changes name to Doniger

Published
Jul 19, 2016

The Netherlands’ McGregor Fashion Group has announced the change of its name to Doniger Fashion Group.

McGregor

According to media reports, the company has been taken over by previous shareholders Jeroen Schothorst and Ben Kolff, alongside investor Marcel Boekhoorn and NIBC bank.

The acquisition involves all activities for the brands McGregor, Gaastra, Adam Menswear and ETP. Nearly 1100 of 1250 jobs will be saved under this scheme, said the company.

Former McGregor COO Joep van Straaten is to remain in the company as CEO, supported by Head of Marketing Kris van de Mierop. Further appointments and plans will be announced in due course.

Since its launch in 1993, McGregor grew into a business with over 150 standalone stores and a presence in 3,200 multi-brand retailers.

In 2015 the company reported losses of 26 million euros and filed for bankruptcy in June 2016.
