Marimekko is overhauling its creative direction. Anna Teurnell will start as the Finnish design brand’s next creative director on July 15, 2014. Minna Kemell-Kutvonen, its current creative director, will continue to work at the label, overseeing print design, historically as one of its specialties.

Anna Teurnell, originally from Sweden, worked her way up the ladder at H&M, becoming head of design for the group’s brand &Other Stories in January 2011, working between Paris and Stockholm.

"I grew up with Marimekko and have had a genuine fondness for it my whole life,” said the new manager responsible for the label’s image. “I also had the pleasure of getting to know it more closely when I was in charge of H&M's Tribute to Marimekko collection launched for summer 2008,” added the graduate of the prestigious Swedish talent factory, Beckmans College.
