Lidl launches sportswear range

Published
Apr 20, 2016

It was only a few weeks ago that Aldi launched a capsule collection with German fashion designer Jette Joop, and now another supermarket chain has made a fashion announcement: Lidl is tapping into the sportswear market with its own sports brand, Crivit Pro.

Lidl's new campaign introducing Crivit Pro - Lidl

Focusing on functional clothing for biking, running and skiing, a selection of the range can already be found on Lidl’s online store as of this week. Further items are scheduled to be added over the next weeks and the complete range will be available in stores at the end of April or the start of May.

The retailer has secured several partnerships to support the launch of the range, including a deal with Ironman World Champion Faris Al-Sutan, who will act as brand ambassador and face of the campaign, and a sponsorship deal with Belgian cycling team Etixx-Quick-Step.

Lidl has been selling sports equipment and clothes for years, however the Crivit Pro brand now offers aspiring athletes a wider selection of performance clothing with moisture-wicking properties at budget prices.
