Labelux: group to be dissolved

Published
Jun 30, 2014

As of July 2014, Labelux’s parent company Jos A. Benckiser (JAB) will take over direct management of the group’s four luxury fashion houses - Bally, Zagliani, Jimmy Choo and Belstaff, Women’s Wear Daily revealed today.

The fashion trade journal said that the changes in structure are a result of the success of the Swiss-based group’s brand portfolio, whose parent company is South African. "JAB wants to increase its direct involvement with its luxury businesses," quotes the American journal. "But there will be no layoffs across the 2,700 employees" at Labelux, a group founded in 2007 that has since grown as a result of several acquisitions.

The latest purchase concerns Jimmy Choo, headed by the Frenchman Pierre Denis. Frédéric de Narp (formerly at LVMH), who is also French, holds the reins at Bally. In London, the Swiss luxury brand shares its locations with Belstaff, currently run by Gavin Haig.
