Kering names new Chief Client Marketing Officer and Bottega Veneta CEO

Kering on Thursday announced two executive appointments. The company named Carlo Alberto Beretta the new Chief Client & Marketing Officer of Kering and named Claus-Dietrich Lahrs the CEO of Bottega Veneta, both effective October 4, 2016. Beretta and Lahrs will both report to directly to Kering Chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault.


Claus-Dietrich Lars succeeds Carlo Alberto Beretta as Bottega Veneta CEO. Beretta has been promoted to Chief Client & Marketing Officer of Kering, a new position for the company.


 
The company created the Chief Client & Marketing Officer position for Beretta who previously served as CEO of Bottega Veneta. In this new role, he will monitor the long-term brands’ equity of Kering portfolio, build profitable customer culture for each Kering brand and accelerate omni-channel distribution across the group.
 
Prior to Bottega Veneta, Beretta worked at Ermenegildo Zegna for 11 years starting as senior merchandising director, then moving to store planning and retail merchandising before being appointed retail development director. He also worked at Valentino and began his career at Italian department store La Rinascente.

Lahrs, who replaces Beretta as CEO of Bottega Veneta, previously served as CEO of Hugo Boss, which he held since 2008, and held top-level positions at Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Christian Dior Couture. While at Hugo Boss, Lahrs doubled the brand’s turnover and increased its profitability.
