Kenzo to merge men’s and women’s shows permanently from 2017
Kenzo is reuniting men’s and women’s shows on a permanent basis. After their first mixed runway in Paris last June, featuring both men’s and women’s lines together, the label – whose style has been defined by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon for the past five years – is planning on a rerun.
From now on, Kenzo will show in January and June. The label has stated that this does not necessarily mean that it will abandon the Women’s Paris Fashion Week, which takes places in March and September. In place of a runway show, the label will present ‘surprising and special projects’ under the title of ‘Memento’, of which we are yet to receive the finer details.
Kenzo is the latest fashion house to announce the recent fusion of its men’s and women’s shows, in the wake of similar decisions made by Calvin Klein in New York, Gucci and Bottega Veneta in Milan, and Paul Smith in Paris.
