Leave it to Carol Lim and Humberto Leon to stage a proper fashion happening – inside their rue Vivienne headquarters - and kick start the Paris season.

It’s rare to see the man himself, Kenzo Takada, at the brand’s shows, but the Kenzo designers are doing everything right. Already a coup! The designers also chose to bring along with them legendary Swiss photographer Hans Feurer who lensed the Kenzo campaigns in the 70’s, and whose influence was apparent in the show.

Seeing as the design duo already presented their joint men’s and women’s shows during the Paris men’s season in January, they decided to use some of the most iconic Feurer images as inspiration for this mini capsule collection show – entitled Kenzo La Collection Memento No 1.

Even Lim herself wore one of the brightly-colored printed cotton dresses that were worn by the models as they navigated through the one-night-only restaurant space inside the brand’s 2nd arrondissement headquarters. Embracing the co-ed concept on the catwalk, they also clad men in the duo’s classical message sweatshirts. Clever ruffled tops with the Kenzo Paris trademark looked like future commercial hits. In accessories, the Pinball Wizard Platforms and some great bucket like totes also cut the mustard – before Lauryn Hill took over. And the neighborhood rocked.
