JD Sports sees fashion sales struggle
British group JD Sports has revealed that like-for-like sales for the 16 weeks ending 17 November have risen by 1.5% compared to last year. This overall increase, however, is thanks to a 3.5% rise in sportswear sales. The groups fashion sales actually saw a decrease of 6.6%.
JD Sports fashion stores include Bank, Scotts and Cecil Gee. In a management statement, JD Sport Fashions has said, "the result for the full year remains, as usual, substantially dependent on the performance through the Christmas period and particularly in the last two weeks of December.”
