British Land has announced it has secured 13 new lettings at Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh, including three fashion brands.

JD Sports is doubling in size with a new 10,000 sq ft store, while Schuh and Schuh Kids will complement the centre’s existing fashion offer with a new 5,000 sq ft branch.

Shoe retailer Office is also arriving at the shopping centre with a 2,500 sq ft store.

Other brands boosting the line-up include Wilko, Waterstones, Starbucks, O2, Currys PC World, Pure Gym, Oak Furniture Land and Tapi Carpets, while Perfume Shop, Vision Express, Clarks and Carphone Warehouse have extended their leases.

The announcement further strengthens Fort Kinnaird’s appeal following the opening a 57,000 sq ft leisure quarter and a bespoke 39,000 sq ft Primark in 2016. The leisure quarter added a seven-screen Odeon cinema and a range of restaurants, and the extension of the centre's regular trading hours resulted in a footfall increase and improved dwell times.

James Varley, Asset Manager for British Land, said: “The scale of these lettings, with a number of leading brands choosing to locate their flagship stores with us, is a great endorsement of the work we have done at Fort Kinnaird to enhance the environment for our customers. Our understanding of the way people shop, grounded in data analytics, is enabling us to respond to their needs with a targeted retail and leisure mix, as well as space to relax and be entertained.”

Fort Kinnaird has a catchment of 840,000 people and features 66 leading shopping and leisure brands including Primark, Odeon, Next, River Island, Boots and Currys.
