Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates 185th anniversary with Harrods pop-up

Jaeger-LeCoultre has opened a pop-up exhibition on the ground floor of Harrods, putting the spotlight on its makers and their expertise to celebrate 185 years of heritage and innovation.

The luxury watch brand has taken over four main windows on Brompton Road to showcase its new Polaris watch collection, and three salons within Harrods feature the heritage pop-up exhibition.

The takeover follows the unveiling of a new Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique in Harrods’ revamped Fine Watch Room, which has undergone a luxury makeover to increase its size and refresh its image.

The work of the craftsmen and women who create Jaeger-LeCoultre’s fine watches is highlighted by the pop-up, and clients have the opportunity to find out more about watchmaking and the brand’s in-house gem setting techniques.

Highlights of the exhibition include The Calibre 101, the smallest mechanical watch movement ever made, worn by Queen Elizabeth II on her coronation day in 1953; and the Rendez-Vous Celestial, a feminine interpretation of the celestial map.

Also showcased is the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection, inspired by the Memovox Polaris watch from 1968; and several vintage pieces. Interactive features help animate the space for the younger generation.

The pop-up exhibition will remain open until Wednesday 27 June.
