Outdoor clothing and equipment company Jack Wolfskin will expand its UK footprint with the opening of a store in Nottingham. It will be the German brand’s ninth UK store and will open in the Exchange arcade this spring.
The historic shopping centre, which originally opened in the 1920s in a Grade II listed building, is a relatively small location.
But it features a strong mid-market mix including Jaeger, Karen Millen, Radley and Bobbi Brown alongside mass-market fashion-focused chains such as Oasis, Warehouse and specialist footwear and accessories chain Dr Martens. there are also non-fashion stores and dining options.
Manager Neil Fincham said Jack Wolfskin would would “bring a new dynamic to the tenant mix.”
The centre has defied the footfall downturn in the past year with a total of 1.8m visitors in 2016 and with December seeing visitor numbers up 3.67% year-on-year. Overall mall traffic across the country declined almost 4% last month.
The centre still has two units to let having suffered a major blow when failed Austin reed closed earlier last year.
