Published
Aug 2, 2013

Jack Wolfskin, whose two main markets are Germany and China, has entered the South American market through a distribution agreement with Heightsport. This outdoor distributor and retailer also manages a network of 17 multi-brand stores in Ecuador.

The agreement covers five countries in South America — Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia and Peru. A first store has just opened in the Chilean city of Pucon, famous for its adventure tourism and located near the Villarrica volcano and some of the country’s national parks. A second store opening is already scheduled for October in the Chilean capital of Santiago. Jack Wolfskin will follow its usual system of developing single-brand stores, franchises and shops-in-shops. The international network already has more than 850 franchised stores, including nearly 500 in Asia. According to the brand, 4,000 multibrand stores currently carry the label. The company’s 2012 turnover clocked in at 351 billion euros.
