Jack Wills opens new store in Taunton

British fashion brand Jack Wills has opened the doors to its new store in Taunton at Orchard Shopping Centre.

Located on the corner of Fore Street and Orchard Shopping Centre, the shop occupies a space of 2,500 sq ft across two floors. This is the fifth store the brand opens this year.

Founder and CEO Peter Williams said: “With stores in some of the farthest flung locations around the world, we are delighted to be returning to the UK to open our latest store in the South West, where it all began for us 18 years ago.

“Opening in one of the most beautiful buildings on the high street, our Taunton store perfectly exemplifies the Fabric of Jack – our dedication to British heritage and superior quality, and our ongoing mission to open up our fantastic supply chain.”

The 160,000 sq ft shopping centre houses 56 retail units, offering brands such as Hotter, Quiz, New Look and Claire’s. Yours Clothing, a plus size brand for women in sizes 16-36, has also recently opened a store at Orchard Shopping Centre in a 1,748 sq ft unit. The mall is now 90% let.

“This series of lettings, which further diversify the income profile of the centre, are a reflection of the hard work that has gone into building upon the success of the Orchard Centre and further affirm its place as the dominant retail destination within Taunton town centre and the surrounding area,” said Kim Sardar, European Director at Rockspring.

“We are confident the new tenants will attract a diverse range of shoppers who will provide a further boost to footfall, which is already up 14% on last year.”
