J. Crew opens women's store in Paris

Classic and chic, J.Crew has opened a store in Paris' Marais neighborhood. The American brand, which has 280 stores primarily located in the United States, was already present in France through its e-commerce site, which is in part translated into French. Today, it will open the doors of its first French store at 12 rue Malher (4th arrondissement), at the intersection with the Rue des Rosiers.

The beautiful 1,800 ft² space, which was once occupied by L’Eclaireur Homme, presents a selection of J.Crew's women's range.

The J.Crew store opened on Friday, March 6 - J.Crew

"The rue Malher store offers a selection of pieces carefully selected from the women’s collection as well as limited edition pieces from the J.Crew Collection with more high-end fabrics and prints, Italian cashmere, jewelry, and a footwear section," the brand explained in a statement. "The space is also dedicated to J.Crew "In Good Company" partners (Birkenstock, Lulu Frost, New Balance, Point Sur, Ray Ban and Thomas Mason). The store will additionally house a collection created in collaboration with the iconic polo brand Lacoste. To celebrate the opening, J.Crew has also created a unique series of Saint James meridien nautical tee exclusively for the store."

These collaborations are dispersed throughout the bright shop. The atmosphere is warm with light wooden floors, a white ceiling, black pillars and furnishings combining wood, gilded steel and gray marble. Two large marble tables at the entrance and at the end of the store section off the space. The fitting rooms are spacious and hidden behind imposing velvet curtains. At the heart of the store, under the large glass roof, is a sizeable space surrounded by jewelry and shoes displays - customers are invited to make themselves comfortable on a sofa.

J.Crew has really put the emphasis on welcoming customers. A 15-person team has been hired to meet the expectations of shoppers who may spend 200 euros for a blouse, 180 euros for a dress, over 300 euros for an Italian cashmere sweater, or 500 euros for a beautiful oversized coat. The store has two stylists available for private appointments and J.Crew also offers a loyalty program offering previews of new collections, deliveries and alterations.

This first French store opens the way for others. Indeed, the brand has announced its intention to open a men's shop, also in the Marais, this fall. What's more, the retailer is aiming to its debut at the Bon Marché by the end of summer.

In Europe, the brand already has five stores in England.
