J. Crew appoints Michael J. Nicholson as President, COO and CFO

J. Crew on Thursday announced that Michael J. Nicholson will assume the role of President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the company on January 11, 2016. Nicholson will join Jenna Lyons, President and Executive Creative Director, and Libby Wadle, President of the J. Crew Brand.

In his new role, Nicholson will oversee J. Crew’s real estate, IT, finance, global supply chain, sourcing, asset management and investment management functions. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Ann, Inc. He replaces Joan Durkin, interim CFO, who will return to serving as J. Crew’s Chief Accounting Officer.

Nicholson will report to Millard Drexler, J. Crew Chairman and CEO. Of the appointment, Drexler said of Nicholson, “Mike has deep experience across the retail industry and we welcome him to the company in this critical role as we move forward with our strategic initiatives, sharpen our execution and build opportunities for profitable growth.” Most recently, Nicholson served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Ann, Inc. from December 2012 through August 2015.

J. Crew Group, Inc. is a global retailer of apparel, accessories, and footwear for men, women, and children via 287 J. Crew retail stores, 99 Madewell stores, 159 factory stores and e-commerce websites for J. Crew, J. Crew Factory and Madewell.
