The Ethical Fashion Forum, the industry body for sustainable fashion, has appointed Harold Tillman CBE as the new Chair.

The Ethical Fashion Forum is launching a new platform, MySource, in early 2017

Tillman was formerly head of Jaeger and Aquascutum and Chair of the British Fashion Council for five years to 2012, as well as Chair of Fashion Matters for three years at the London College of Fashion.

“I have been following The Ethical Fashion Forum and the work they do for a number of years and was keen to get more involved,” he said. “I’m very passionate about sustainability and increasing best practice of where and how things are manufactured.”

He joins the sustainable initiative, which brings together over 10,000 members in 141 countries, in its landmark 10th year. The Ethical Fashion Forum’s 20 founding members include fashion professionals and business owners from across the industry supply chain.

In order to take the work of the body to a larger scale, the initiative is currently working on a new online B2B platform which is planned to launch in early 2017. The platform will build on the current Source model and provide fashion professionals around the globe with the connections and resources to build and develop successful sustainable businesses.

Additionally, the Ethical Fashion Forum will be building a high profile industry panel, inviting professionals in leadership positions across the fashion industry to further the success and impact of its work.
