Gucci unveils limited edition Blind For Love book with Assouline

Gucci on Monday announced the launch of a new book, Blind For Love, with Assouline.

Blind For Love features images of the Gucci Cruise 2017 fashion show that were taken by British artist and photographer Nick Waplington. The book also has words from the English ballad “Scarborough Fair”, which played in the fashion show soundtrack.The new book shares its name with many pieces from the Gucci Cruise 2017 collection. A number of t-shirts, footwear, jewelry and accessories feature the phrase "Blind For Love".
 
Born in 1965, Nick Waplington is known for his unfiltered depiction of British life. He won awards for his photography such as the European Photo Award and the ICP Infinity Award, and he works extensively with painting, video, computer-generated imagery, and sculpture. Waplington also collaborated with Alexander McQueen and released a publication with the fashion house in 2013 titled Working Process.

Gucci has made its presence in the art world known by collaborating with artist Trouble Andrew on the GucciGhost collection and with artists Chiharu Shiota, Daito Manabe and Mr. for the ‘4 Rooms’ interactive exhibition at Dover Street Market Ginza and the Gucci Tokyo flagship store. In November, the fashion house sponsored the House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth exhibition at Chatsworth House in the UK.
 
Blind For Love will launch on December 1 at Assouline boutiques around the world, at Dover Street Market in London, New York City and Tokyo, Colette in Paris and select bookstores. Only 1,000 copies of Blind For Love will be released, and the book is priced at $95.
