Glossier branches out into body care products

The makeup brand that has put its focus on skincare and natural, simple makeup has now expanded into the body care market, with the launch of its first body wash and lotion.

Glossier’s new Body Hero Duo includes the Daily Oil Wash and Daily Perfecting Cream, packaged in its signature millennial pink tubes. The products are inspired by oil cleansers traditionally used as face products, with the Daily Oil Wash containing coconut, olive and grapeseed oils. The Daily Perfecting Cream is made with many plant-based ingredients, such as yucca extracts and prickly pear.
 
The launch is meant to elevate body care products to the same importance as face products. “Bodycare, for one reason or another, has turned into the outcast of the skincare world—as if the skin on your face isn't just as important as the skin everywhere else. We rush through it with no-name products, if we don't out-and-out neglect it,” the brand writes on Into the Gloss.

Known for its natural-looking makeup, Glossier has significantly expanded its reach in recent months. The online brand recently announced it would begin shipping to the UK, Canada and France, with plans for further expansion. At the end of 2016, the brand opened its first physical store in New York City.
 
The oil-based body wash retails for $18, and the body moisturizer for $22. The Body Hero Duo is available as a set for $35, all exclusively at Glossier.
