Galliano at Maison Martin Margiela?

Published
Sep 30, 2014

According to the website Page Six, John Galliano may return to fashion by the end of the year with Maison Martin Margiela. The former creative director of Dior may join the brand owned by Renzo Rosso, the head of Only The Brave (Diesel, Marni, Viktor & Rolf...), in order to design a haute couture collection. Discussions are ongoing, while Galliano has already hired five to six people for his atelier.

It would be an impressive return for the designer who was fired by Dior in 2011 because of anti-Semitic remarks.

Meanwhile, Galliano has gone through rehab. He also temporarily worked at Oscar de la Renta.

Clearly the flamboyant style he brought to Dior appears at odds with the somewhat austere designs at Maison Martin Margiela. But as a multifaceted designer, Galliano will most certainly be happy to bring his ample and versatile talent to a project like this one...if it all pans out.
