Italian leather goods brand Furla has opened a new store in Birmingham International Airport in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail.

The space is located within the newly-refurbished Tumi-Furla store and showcases the brand’s SS16 collection.

“We have opened multiple new locations with Lagardère recently and thank them for considering Furla for this exciting new location,” said Gerry Munday, Furla Global Travel Retail Director. “We would also like to sincerely thank Birmingham Airport Authorities for all their help and support with this project in the true spirit of The Trinity”.

The travel-retail segment is performing well for the Italian company. Last year, Furla reported a 36% increase in travel-retail sales compared to the previous year, while worldwide retail sales grew by 23% compared to 2014, when growth was 15%.

Furla also recently opened a new personalised space at Hong Kong International Airport in partnership with DFS. The opening follows a string of new store openings over Asia this year.
