The American accessories brand is making the most of August in launching its very first line of fragrances. Dubbed “Fossil 1954” in reference to the year the brand was founded, the two fragrances - one for men and one for women - will be made available in ten countries in Europe and North America.

Coming in bottles inspired by mid twentieth century glasswork, the two potions will be offered in the brand’s stores in the United States and Canada as well as in France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK.

Both fragrances come in 50 ml bottles for 59 euros. The fragrance for women blends mandarin blossom, pink pepper and ginger with more masculine notes of cedar from Texas, the state where the brand was founded. Recalling "a leather jacket” (sic), the men’s fragrance is more raw, mixing sandalwood and notes of raw vanilla.

Fossil operates in 130 countries through 23 subsidiaries and 60 independent distributors. The company has over 400 of its own stores, plus corners in department stores and stores specialized in accessories. Last year, the group generated 2.17 billion euros (2.85 billion dollars) in sales, up 37.9%. One of its goals is to strengthen the position of Swiss watches in its range.
