Fast Retailing: Uniqlo's international sales increased by 64.7%

Published
Oct 9, 2014

The financial year closed at the end of August showed a 21% increase in turnover, now standing at 10 billion euros (or 1,383 billion yen).

Uniqlo's Japanese sales increased by 4.7% last year, for a sum of 5.2 billion euros. The share of the brand's domestic sales nevertheless declined to 51.7%, compared to 59.8% the preceding year.

An evolution driven by the increase in Uniqlo's international sales, now standing at 3 billion euros, up 64.7%. The brand's export sales now account for 29% of Fast Retailing's sales, compared to 22% the previous year.

Regarding the Global Brands section, which brings together the Group's other brands, Fast Retailing announces a new increase, to 1.8 billion euro (+21.8%). The activity thus remains stable in its turnover at 18.2% (+0.2 points).

Brands GU and Theory both saw their sales increase, whereas their profits are faltering. French brand Comptoir des Cotonniers is also enjoying a rise in its sales, as well as its profits. In contrast, its compatriot Princesse TamTam is seeing a drop in its profits despite the increase in its turnover.
