After a year of testing the water in China, womenswear brand Etam is putting its foot to the floor with development in South-East Asia. Already present in the Phillipines, the French retailer has two store openings scheduled for Singapore this month, both of which will be in shopping centres. The move is in partnership with the market expert Wing Tai Retail.

The first store celebrated its opening in the Wisma Atria shopping centre on May 3 while the second is scheduled to open on May 10 at Raffles City. Both stores will carry ready-to-wear as well as the brand’s famed lingerie collections.

Though Etam is facing a decline in sales in China, entry into this new market will allow the brand to capitalise on potential growth on the continent. Wing Tai Retail has plans to open a total of five stores in Singapore between now and 2015. Etam has 550 stores across 30 countries and has near to 3000 concessions in China.
